Trip Highlights
While we all love skiing in Breckenridge, there is sooo much to do in the summer. Hiking, golfing, bicycling (road & mtn biking), white water rafting, horseback riding are just a few of the activities that await us. Believe it or not, you can also go sailing or paddle boarding. Alpine coasters, ropes courses, zip lining are also on the menu of seemingly limitless activities.
Join us for a long weekend in Breckenridge and you will immediately appreciate what Breck has to offer in the summer. It’s not just a ski town!!! We’ll spend 5 nights out there learning why!! It gets better Keystone is just a short complimentary shuttle ride away and our trip coincides with the Keystone Wine & Jazz Festival currently rescheduled to July 17-18, 2021. 300 plus wine varieties along with free jazz concerts makes for a great time.

Lodging: Mountain Thunder Lodge
Located in the heart of the Breckenridge Ski Resort, Mountain Thunder Lodge features cosmopolitan luxury, in a rustic mountain setting. Just two blocks to scenic Main Street, it’s an easy walk to unlimited shopping, restaurants, galleries, museums, bike rentals and many other unique shops. The lodge is also a short walk to the BreckConnect Gondola.
Numerous outdoor hot tubs are located throughout the property and the outdoor pool is one of the most scenic and relaxing in all of Breckenridge. Enjoy countless comforting amenities like outdoor grills, two fitness rooms, laundry facilities, private bike storage and more. We are staying in 2BR/2BA condos guaranteed to have a queen or king in one of the bedrooms and two twins in the other bedroom.

The Mountain
When the snow melts in Breckenridge, ski trails give way to mountain biking and hiking trails and other outdoor activities abound. Rivers start to rush, the wildflowers begin to bloom and everyone is outside taking in the Colorado sunshine. The high averages around 70 degrees and the low averages around the 40s, with little to no humidity. While the sweltering heat is taking over our area, the Rockies stay at a nearly perfect temperature – setting the stage for outdoor sports, activities and just hanging out by the river or shopping along Main Street.
There are hundreds of miles of trails in and around Breckenridge for hiking or biking (both road and mountain); take your pick! Looking for water sports? Try a guided fly-fishing trip, whitewater rafting or stand-up paddle boarding. Head over to Keystone for horseback riding or experience how far a golf ball travels at a course over 1.5 miles high!
Bring the family and experience Breck’s Epic Discovery offering activities for every level of adventurer. From scenic chairlift rides to guided hikes, zip-line tours, climbing walls, mini-golf and roller coasters, it’s easy to pack your day full of fun at the base of Peak 8.
For history buffs, the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance offers a number of walking and hiking tours of historic sites and museums surrounding the area, including saloon, ghost and gold panning tours!
There’s simply so much to do and we will pack in as much as possible during our time out there. You’ll have plenty of free time, but we will definitely schedule some fun group activities or après adventure gatherings that you won’t want to miss.
