Trip Description

Princeza Diana
Princeza Diana

Croatia has been said to be the next big tourist destination with estimates stating it will be a Top Vacation choice by 2020 – which means the price is sure to rise. This trip has it all; we fly into a major Croatian city before boarding a luxurious motor coach to see the country’s interior on our way to the port in Trogir. We then hop aboard the Deluxe Class, 3-mast motor yacht Princeza Diana. First launched in 2011, she has 16 cabins, plenty of outdoor decks and indoor spaces along with a platform for hopping into the Adriatic Sea on a hot day.

On our tour we will bike the Outer Islands Southern Dalmation (approx. 130 miles) which is rated as a Level 2/3 difficulty. on the scale of 1-5 . We will visit unique harbor towns and beautiful island landscapes as we explore many exceptional islands. We embark from Split and sail to Cetina Canyon, Brac Island, Korcula Island, Islands of Vis & Hvar, Solta Island and disembark in Trogir.

Come Sail & Bike with us on this AMAZING trip!

THE ITINERARY

Tour B Southern Dalmatia (more distance-approx 130 miles, harder, hillier rides)

Saturday Trogir, embarkation at 2 PM. Sailing to Split
Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 3 mi./5 km away from the harbor of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm the first short cruise starts about 3 pm from Trogir to Split. There we can go on a walk through the old town of Split, which is built adjoining the famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diocletian and is a world heritage site.)

Sunday Split - Cetina Canyon, 25km or 45km. Sailing to Hvar island
During breakfast we cross over to Omiš, an old pirate stronghold on the Croatian mainland. During the morning we explore the valley of the Cetina River which has been deeply etched into the rock. On minor roads and through varied landscapes we return to Omiš. Optionally there is the opportunity to participate in a two hours rafting tour on the river Cetina (not included into the tour price). From Omiš we set out to Jelsa on the island of Hvar.

Monday Hvar Island and Korèula Island, 25km or 45km
We start our cycle tour after breakfast in Jelsa leading us to the easternmost corner of the island (Sucuraj). Alternatively we can shorten the trip and meet the boat halfway at the small port town Pokrivenik. Our destination is the island Korèula with its island capital of the same name. We have enough time to wander through the beautiful old town with its fishbone-like alleys. The town also competes with Venice for the honor of being the birthplace of Marco Polo.

Tuesday Korèula Island, cycle route approx. 48 km
Korèula town is the starting point of today’s cycle tour across the island. The beautiful Dalmatian island is characterized by its quiet atmosphere. Our route takes us to the small port of Prigradica where our boat awaits us for lunch. After a longer crossing in the afternoon we reach the island of Vis.

Wednesday Islands of Vis and Hvar, cycle route approx. 32 km
Vis is the furthermost island from mainland Croatia. A Greek colony called Issa has been on the island 2,300 years ago. Due to its strategic location it was a military zone until 1995 and prohibited for foreign tourists. Today we have the opportunity to explore the lovely island by bicycle. After cycling the boat takes us to the Island of Hvar where we visit the magnificent Renaissance square and enjoy the view from the Spanish Fortress which is situated high above the city.

Thursday Islands of Hvar and Braè, cycle route approx. 35km
In the morning we cycle along a 400 m high pass road, next to lavender fields and wonderful views of the neighbouring islands and the mainland. First destination is the artist colony town of Stari Grad. The town was founded as a Greek colony of Faros. After a short town visit we continue to cycle to Jelsa. Here we board the boat and cruise to a well known beach to take a long swim break. The Golden Horn is a white pebble beach. Depending on the wind its tip directs to either right or left side. The beach is published in almost every Croatian tourist magazine.

Friday Šolta Island, cycle route approx. 19 km
After crossing over to Stomorska on the island of Šolta we commence our last cycle tour. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herb smells of lavender and rosemary accompanies us along our tour through this island. We load the bikes onto the ship in Maslinica and enjoy our last crossing back to Trogir where, if time permits, we can take a tour of the old town which is a world heritage site. The last evening aboard our ship follows a nice tradition. While enjoying the communal dinner in a cosy atmosphere you will have the chance for a last get-together with your crew and your tour guides.

Saturday Trogir, disembarkation 9 AM
After breakfast disembarkation until 9 AM and individual trip home or extended stay in Dalmatia/Croatia.
