Roger is in his second year as the club President for Tampa Bay
Snow Skiers and Boarders. Roger is a former skier turned “slimy” snow
boarder, but he says some of his best friends are still skiers. He has been
a member of TBSSB for 6 years and has led 6 trips. He’s a very experienced
and organized leader and all-round fun guy. His trips have consistently
been rated very high. People always have fun on his trips. Roger will be
traveling out with those adventurous souls who join us for the Silverton
portion of the trip. |

Mike is in his third year
with the club. On his first TBSSB ski trip (2009) he had so much fun that
he swears he will never take another without the club, plus he became an
Assistant Leader the very next year. The travelers rated the trip he co-led
to Crested Butte the best of the season with 100% saying they got their
money’s worth. Mike has been an avid skier for many years but says some of
his best friends are snow boarders. He will be traveling out with those
travelers who select the Telluride-only option.

TELLURIDE |
|
|
|
|
2SkiTelluride.jpg) |
Surrounded by
the majestic peaks of the San Juan Mountains in Southwestern
Colorado, Telluride is arguably the most scenic ski resort in the
world. The terrain is easily one of the best. What separates it from
other big name ski areas is that Telluride is a destination-only
resort. Its location places it out of reach for day visitors. The
result is no waiting in lift lines and a greater sense of solitude.
The mountain offers something for
every ability level, including gentle beginner terrain
and wide open, groomed intermediate runs. For experts, there's even
more variety: bumps, tree skiing, powder, expert-only hike-to spots,
freestyle terrain parks and steeps that will make even the most
accomplished expert double-check their confidence. |

Telluride Ski Resort
is a
world-class ski resort that has expanded over 300 acres in the last
few years, offering some of the most stunning skiing and riding on
the planet. Telluride’s free gondola is the main source of
transportation - no traffic or long
lift lines, and no driving once you’ve arrived.
Experience unrivaled scenery and terrain, and world-class lodging,
shopping and spas… and discover why Telluride is unmatched in North
America. |
|
With over 2000
acres of skiable terrain, Telluride Ski Resort offers a genuine
mountain experience for all levels of skiers and boarders thanks to
a mix of quality terrain at all points on the mountain. From
refined groomed runs to challenging moguls, there truly is something
for everyone. Even beginners and intermediate skiers can ride to
the highest peaks and enjoy terrain and views typically reserved for
the experts. For the third consecutive year and the fourth year in
the past five seasons,
Telluride Ski Resort
was …

SILVERTON |
|
|
|
Silverton-Boarder.jpg) |
At Silverton
Mountain ski area in Colorado it’s all thrills, no frills, and
plenty of spills (as the logo suggests)! Silverton is for advanced
and expert riders only, and it’s really
suited to those with an adventurous
spirit. There are no crowds, a relaxed vibe, and plenty
of awesome powder and terrain. The terrain includes open alpine
bowls, chutes, drop-offs, and lots of steep tree skiing. The
challenging slopes are not manicured, so if you lose your nerve
there are no groomed runs on which to bail out. The snow falls in
abundance at Silverton with an average of 400 inches per season. And
as is typical of Colorado, the powder is light and dry. Better
still, there are low numbers of visitors each day, so the likelihood
of skiing fresh powder is pretty high. |

“Silverton Mountain is pretty close to the most pure skiing
experience one can find today, an epic mountain, bountiful snowfall
(the deep and light Colorado kind!), and none of the distractions of
other ski areas (crowds!).”

guest rooms retained their original woodwork and high ceilings,
and are currently furnished with 19th century

tasteful Victorian aesthetics of the late 1800’s with the modern
amenities of today, including:
