Join George, your trip leader, and Phil (President/TBSSB), along with Elisabeth S., Jerry G., and Leslie S. who have recently committed to this trip. We’re sure others are seriously thinking about it, to include maybe your friends who have skied Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain last season (some pics are from last season’s TBSSB trip) or in years past or who want to definitely ski it this season – right before the Olympics.

We ONLY HAVE 12 HOTEL ROOMS in the famous 5-Star FOUR SEASONS RESORT WHISTLER, and these Club members mentioned above already have taken three (3) of those rooms. We’ll do the math ‘cause it’s easy – ONLY 9 rooms left! So, don’t delay, sign up today or you’ll be left out on what should promise to be one of your best ski trips ever with TBSSB! You can count on it.

Rated THE # 1 Ski Resort in North America for the last decade and consistently ranked the # 1 Ski Resort in America by Ski Magazine, this premier resort is the host mountain for The Official Alpine Skiing Venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This is a trip that you don’t want to miss… for the exciting, competing atmosphere at Whistler Blackcomb one week before the next winter Olympics will be something to feel, to experience, to talk about, and to remember for a lifetime.

Whistler Blackcomb is located in the Coast Mountain range of British Columbia. We will be on the site of the 2010 Olympic runs one week before the opening ceremonies. www.vancouver2010.com You might even get to ski the Olympic runs and get the chance to see the Olympians at practice; you might even get to ride a lift with one and maybe have a nice chat…about…let’s see…maybe skiing.

How can you not go on this trip? These are two world class mountains to ski, now connected by a “Peak 2 Peak” gondola! This will be a true pre-Olympic luxury trip for TBSSB Club members, with us staying at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort. Those who do get the chance will long remember and talk about the skiing/riding, the nightlife, the shopping, dining at one or more of the many fine restaurants with unbelievable cuisine, the competitive Olympic atmosphere and spirit and finally, the true luxury of staying in the 5-Star Four Seasons Resort.

The Village at Whistler is one of the premier ski resort villages in the world. This car-free area has an eclectic array of shops, restaurants and bars that reflects the international makeup of the skiers who come to Whistler from all over the world. We should stay for a month just to sample all the restaurants and meet the friendly visitor’s from other countries. We only wish we could. Shopping is an intensive activity and more than the usual ski town goods are on display. In addition to skiing, there are activities such as snowmobiling, dog sled rides, and hiking for everyone to enjoy. Day tours to Vancouver are also available.

With a base elevation of 2,140 feet (think – no altitude sickness!), the town of Whistler is populated by about 6,000 year-round residents. The average winter temperature is about 25 degrees F. On average, a whopping 30 feet of natural snow is dumped on Whistler Blackcomb's each ski season! The least traveled time of the year is January, with a modest 9,690 visitors – exactly when we’ll be there. The town is most frequently visited by Europeans, Asians, Australians and Canadians.

Enjoy the splendor of one or North America’s top mountain resorts, wrapped in 5-Star Four Seasons Resort hotel comfort with intuitive personal care. One of the highlights of the trip will be staying in these luxurious accommodations. With easy access to the awe-inspiring slopes of Whistler Blackcomb, the Four Seasons Resort includes a superb spa, mountainside dining and wilderness adventures year round. Yes, the FOUR SEASONS RESORT hotel is what you get with this trip! www.fourseasons.com/Whistler

Always rated as one of the top two or three hotels in the World, the Four Seasons will pamper you from check-in to departure and spoil you with amenities and their service. This Whistler hotel is at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Whistler has its share of
grand hotels, but even in this exalted company the Four Seasons Resort stands alone. Easily the most refined and elegant of Whistler's hotels, the Four Seasons is monumental in scale while maintaining the atmosphere of a very intimate and sophisticated boutique hotel – a rare achievement.

The Four Season's urbane good taste extends to the large guest rooms, decorated in wood and cool earth tones and beautifully furnished with rich fabrics and leather furniture. All rooms have a balcony, fireplace, and very large, amenity-filled bathrooms with soaker tubs, a glass walled shower and
wall-to-wall amenities. The standard moderate room is a very spacious 500+ sq. ft.

Moderate Room Description
(520 sq. ft) King bed. Maximum occupancy: 2 adults. Moderate Rooms offer a cozy wood interior, gas fireplace with views of the courtyard or forest.

  • Each room features a sitting area, a well-defined work area and a gas-burning fireplace.
  • Amenities also include an entertainment center with television and CD/DVD player, dual-line telephones, high-speed Internet access, an in-room safe, coffee maker and private bar.
  • The oversized slate tile bathroom features a deep soaking tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, double vanity and separate toilet area with telephone.

On the property there is an alpine spa, heated outdoor pool with three whirlpools, 24-hour concierge, yoga and palates’ classes, room service, 24-hour bar (wow!) and a first class restaurant. Each room also has high speed Internet access, twice-a-day housekeeping, and daily newspaper. Our rooms are at least 500 square feet and are available with one king or two twin beds. What more could you ask for?

For your skiing convenience there is a SKI CONCIERGE who stores your boots and skies as you leave the slopes. If you don’t favor the 3 minute walk from the storage pavilion to the hotel, the FREE skier’s shuttle will carry you to the door. Next morning your skis and warm boots will be ready for you to hit the exciting runs again.

Many skiers from previous Whistler trips are ready to sign up so don’t be left out. Remember, there will be only 24 (12 rooms) lucky Club members to experience this trip, and only 20 airline seats are available. So…don’t be left out of a true lifetime experience. Send in your trip application and deposit today!

Whistler is the largest ski area in North America encompassing both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
It has more acreages and vertical drop than any other resort in N.A. and more trails for all abilities. There is so much to ski/ride in Whistler Blackcomb, you can’t possibly ski all of both mountains, consisting of more than 8100 skiable acres, in one week. The biggest and also the most varied terrain in N.A., that’s what you’ll find in Whistler. Groomers, cliffs, steeps, bumps, glades, back country, terrain parks, and wide open bowls – you’ll find them all. Whistler Blackcomb is insanely huge. But we can certainly try to ski/ride it all. I’m game, are you?

This enormous ski resort consists of over 200 trails and features high speed lifts to take you up a vertical rise of more than 5,100 feet. 12 bowls and 3 glaciers offer more adventure than you could ever dream of. The “Peak 2 Peak” gondola is now a reality. And now that both mountain resorts are jointly operated by Intrawest, your pass gives you access to both ski areas. Locals have their preferences, but the truth is that both resorts offer great skiing.

Whistler Mountain has 4,927 ft. of vertical and over 100 marked runs that are serviced by a high-speed gondola and eight high-speed chairlifts, plus four other lifts and tows. Helicopter service from the top of the mountain makes another 100-plus runs on nearby glaciers accessible. There are cafeterias and gift shops on the peak as well as a licensed restaurant.

Blackcomb Mountain has 5,196 ft. of vertical and over 100 marked runs that are serviced by nine high-speed chairlifts, plus three other lifts and tows. The cafeteria and gift shop aren't far from the peak, and the licensed restaurant is worth the gondola trip even if you're not skiing -- the view is spectacular, the food is decent.

LIFT TICKET: The “Group Hug” program now allows us to purchase a 5-day lift ticket and receive the 6th day FREE. Our TBSSB group lift ticket discounts are in effect as well.
